Calls on the Commission and the Member States to develop public health messages to raise public awareness and in doing so promote a change in behaviour towards the use of antibiotics, particularly prophylactic management; underlines the importance of promoting ‘health literacy’, since it is crucial that patients understand healthcare information and are able to follow treatment instructions accurately;
