Stresses that the large-scale adoption and implementation of ITS necessitates adherence to transport service information and timetables for the various modes of transport; considers that it is necessary to introduce a European system for the protection of travellers affected by delays or cancellations, taking account of intermodal transport connections, and recommends the implementation of a system of electronic cards to ensure a uniform fare structure covering access to all types of transport.
