Expresses its deep concern over the direct consequences of the current international financial crisis on the sustainability and quality of public finances in the Member States; expresses particular concern over the impact of that crisis on the real economy and balance of payments in the new Member States, which do not belong to the euro area, and which are witnessing a drastic reduction in direct foreign investment;
