1. Welcomes the Commission study on the implications of internal market policies on the funding of grassroots sports and calls for a bridging of the gap between ‘rich’ and ‘poor’ sports by means of financial solidarity mechanisms; stresses that it is particularly important for non- commercial and grassroots sport that the internal market rules do not undermine the continued provision of public-sector support for sport;
