Recognises that the Black Sea Region (BSR)is of geostrategicpolitical importance for the energy security and the diversification of EU energy supply, given its proximity to the Caspian Sea, the Middle East and Central Asia and that after the accession of Romania and Bulgaria, the EU hasmight become a major player in it;
