Emphasises the need to explore the possibility of introducing a common European standard for mobile phone peripheral devices, as well as measures for achieving this; considers that such standardisation would reduce costs and facilitate consumers' use of mobile telecommunication services, as well as reduce waste of electrical and electronic equipment and save energy, materials, and resources; calls, therefore, for a study on the development of a common European standard for mobile phone peripheral devices.
