Stresses the need to implement in practice Article 3, paragraph 6, of Directive 2003/54/EC, according to which Member States shall ensure that consumers receive reliable information about the energy mix of the electricity supplier and the environmental impact resulting from the electricity produced by the supplier's energy mix;

5. Considers that it is necessary to guaranteeing supply to people with lower incomes is necessary in the light of increasing energy prices and to people who live in remote areas, owing to their small, uncompetitive energy market; considers it important that Member States take steps to define exactly this group of consumers;
