Calls upon the Member States, local authorities and school authorities to bring the quality and nutritional standards of school food into line with present-day nutritional knowledge; calls for a balanced diet, tailored to needs, to be made available in accordance with this knowledge; urges that fresh fruit and vegetables be made available in vending machines and a wide range of dairy products provided; calls upon Member States to ensure that more school lesson slots are devoted to physical movement;
