Recalls that the single market often serves the providers more than the consumers; advocates simplifying financial legislation and removing barriers to the mobility of consumers such as fees for terminating an account; emphasises, however, that simplification should not lead to a lowering of the consumer protection; insists that the removal of barriers must not result in products becoming more expensive;
