Welcomes the proposals aimed at introducing a common consolidated corporate tax base, reviewing the VAT system and revising the Energy Tax Directive1,2, provided that the tax burden does not fall on vulnerable consumers; calls on the Commission to submit a proposal on banking taxation which encompasses all the levies contributed and the taxes currently under consideration;
