Believes that the priorities outlined in the EC Country Strategy Paper (2007- 2013) are in line with Afghan society's needs; underlines the need to focus particular attention on police and judicial reform as key elements for re-building the trust of Afghan citizens in their state; urges the Budgetary Control Committee to include an assessment of the extent to which funding for EUPOL Afghanistan has been correctly and effectively used;
