Believes that market opening policies for agricultural products in the framework of the WTO and bilateral free trade agreements have significantly contributed to a loss of food security in many developing countries and in the context of the current global food supply crisis; calls on the European Commission to re-assess its free market approach to agricultural trade accordingly and to exempt export duties for agricultural products in partner countries, if this would guarantee their food security goals;
