2. The CE marking shall be affixed visibly, legibly and indelibly to the construction product or to, its data plate. Where this is not possible or not warranted on account of the nature of the product, it shall be affixed to, the packaging or to the accompanying documents.

Manufacturers shall ensure that their construction products bear a type, batch or serial number or any other element allowing their identification, or, where the size or nature of the product does not allow it, that the required information is provided on the packaging or in a document accompanying the construction product.

Distributors shall, on the basis of a reasoned request from the competent national authorities, provide them with all the information and documentation necessary to demonstrate the confthe contact details of the manufacturer orm ity of the construction product with the declared performances authorised representative or of the importer. They shall cooperate with those authorities, at the request of the latter, on any action to avoid the risks posed by construction products which they have made available on the market.

1. The European Technical Assessment (ETA) shall be issued by a Technical Assessment Body, for any construction product which does not fall within the scope of a harmonised European standard, at the request of a manufacturer or importer on the basis of a EAD in accordance with the procedure set out in Annex II.
