Regrets that Parliament’s recommendation to the EESC to base the reimbursement of members’ travel expenses on real costs was not implemented due to the Council’s still pending decision on the level of allowances; recalldemands that the system should be fully operational by the beginning of the next EESC term;

11. Shares the viewtrongly believes that some improvements should be made to rationalise human resources in the Joint Services and in translation; finds the on- going contacts between the EESC, the CoR and Parliament in this matter a positive contribution to the rationalisation of resources;
