6a. Calls for increased funding for the European Defence Fund (both Research and Non-Research) in order to fully foster an innovative and competitive defence industrial base that will contribute to the much-needed strategic autonomy of the EU; emphasizes that in order to better address emerging and future security threats, the EU must offer enough funding for research in innovative defence products and technologies aimed to strengthen collaborative actions and cross-border cooperation throughout the Union.

Calls for increased funding for military mobility with the aim of helping Member States act faster and more effectively in the context of a future possible conflict; highlights that the goal of military mobility is to harmonise rules across Member States and to explore the potential of a civilian-military approach to infrastructure development; notes, therefore, that sufficient funding is needed to support missions and operations under the common security and defence policy, including by measures such as funding dual-use transport infrastructure and simplifying diplomatic clearances and customs rules;
