Is deeply concerned about the erosion of democracy and human rights in certain countries in the region and the restrictions on space for civil society, particularly for environmental and labour rights activists and media worker, academics, researchers and media workers; calls ASEAN to dedicate adequate resources to its Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) and facilitate its decision-making processes; hopes that specific and verifiable targets and measures will be included in the AICHR’s five-year work plan and that human rights violations will be actively monitored, investigated and prosecuted; urges all ASEAN member states to ratify further UN human rights conventions and the Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC);
