Calls on sports organisations to ensure that bidding to host major events abides by good governance standards and fundamental rights, and guarantees a sustainable legacy; considers it essential, both at the start of all building and infrastructure work for the holding of major sporting events, and during the course of tendering procedures, for the organisers, sponsors and firms to bear responsibility for respecting and complying with human rights in the context of the sporting event;
