Is of the opinion that, owing to the EU’s considerable power as a purchaser of energy resources, an energy-purchasing group needs to be established which would negotiate the price of energy resources on behalf of the EU, particularly when purchasing gas from monopolistic suppliers for the most isolated regions of the EU from an energy point of view, such as the Baltic region, whose competitiveness is significantly reduced by higher gas prices than elsewhere in the EU;
