Stresses that the EU's energy supply largely depends on foreign sources and that the diversification of energy supply channels and sources is one of the main conditions for increasing energy security and independence, and for economic competitiveness, in the European Union; emphasises the considerable contribution the TTIP could make to the EU'’s energy supply diversification and to its energy security by, inter alia, lifting licensing requirements for US gas exports;
