Observes that statistics must be coherent, comparable, gender-specific and complete and must take account of new developments in the organisation of work; considers that, in assessing the pay gap, not only differences in gross hourly wages but also other aspects of individual pay and qualifications should be taken into account; notes that the European Institute for Gender Equality should compile statistics and carry out a comparative analysis on these issues;
