The Platform, as set out in Article 1 (1), shall contribute to better enforcement of EU and national law, to the reduction of undeclared work and the emergence of formal jobs, to improve the transition from the informal to the formal economy, hence avoiding the deterioration of quality of work, and to promote integration in the labour market and social inclusion by:

(2) In carrying out its tasks, the Platform wishall make use of all relevant sources of information, including studies and multilateral cooperation projects and take into account relevant Union instruments and structures, as well the experience of relevant bilateral agreements. It wishall establish appropriate cooperation with Eurofound, particularly with regard to the development of an interactive knowledge bank as an additional task of the Agency, and EU-OSHA.

(6a) The size of the undeclared economy varies significantly across Member States, ranging from below 8% to over 30% of GDP. According to Eurofound’s report of 2013, there is a clear north-south and east-west divide within the EU271 a. __________________ 1aEurofound report on Combating Undeclared Work in 27 European Union Member States and Norway (2013).
