Urges the Commission to keep Parliament informed about the progress and outcomes of the dialogue held with Member States on the implementation of the Services Directive; Calls on the Commission to take further enforcement measures when deemed necessary; stresses the need to limit as far as possible the administrative burdens and red tape which implementing the Services Directive entails in particular for local and regional public authorities;

Calls on the Commission to focus its targeted actions on the requirements which if removed would bring maximum added value to the functioning of the single market for services; hopes, nevertheless, that the Commission will take account of the difficulties that the elimination of certain requirements may cause to the public authorities’ capacity to regulate effectively the provision of services on their territory; asks the Commission to target its work towards the sectors and professions with a high potential for cross - border provision of services;
