NotesIs appalled by the fact that, despite the huge injections of foreign aid, more Afghans are dying through poverty than as a direct result of the armed conflict, and that, shockingly, since 2002 infant mortality has risen, and life expectancy at birth and levels of literacy have declined markedly; since 2004, the population living below the poverty threshold has increased by 130%;
