Calls for future trade agreements to be drawn up in such a way that they form part of an industrial strategy based onare consistent with EU industrial policy, lead to a truly open market with mutual reciprocal benefits and prevent trade- restrictive measures (e.g. export taxes) thereby leading to a fair competition in the developed and developing worlds; in order to take into account the principle of sustainable development must be comprehensively applied, and, social and environmental standards incorporaconcerns should be reflected in free trade agreements; steps must be taken to ensure that European industries are not endangered by unfair practices, as is currently happening in the solar energy industry;
