3a. Stresses that attempts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the agricultural sector must also focus on emissions caused by: - the direct and indirect effects of land use change, - the production of inputs by the agri- foodstuffs industry, especially those connected with the long-distance transport of its intermediate and final products; considers, therefore, that priority should be given to short production – transformation – consumption systems.
