Regrets that it was not consulted prior to the adoption of the package, and urges the European institutions to align the different initiatives into a single strategic, holistic work programme, which also includes market surveillance, avoiding duplication of actions and policies; Stresses that the relevant committee of the European Parliament can play an important role the public scrutiny of harmonised standards mandated by the Commisison;
