Welcomes efforts in both the public and private sectors to introduce journey planners but notes that many such services cover only specific regions or countries and that few are multimodal; calls therefore for all the stakeholders to focus more closely on providingintroduce multimodal, cross-border journey planners with tailored ticketing arrangements linking long- distance and local transport by 2020;

Shares the Commission’s view that fair and equal access for service providers to comprehensive, multimodal real-time transport and travel data is a prerequisite for EU-wide multimodal travel information, planning and ticketing services, and calls on the Commission to circulate a proposal requiring all providers to make available, on fair and equal termsfor free, all the information needed for putting in place more comprehensive services and thereby enabling travellers to choose between the most sustainable, best-value or fastest connections, without prejudice to the economic interests of the operators involved;
