Calls on the Special Representatives of the EU for the Sahel and for human rights to develop joint actions to ensure women’s rights in the region more effectively; urges that the European Commission, the EEAS and partner states make women’s rights and gender equality a priority for bilateral aid programmes. and express particular condemnation of violence as the principal obstacle to enjoyment by women of social and economic freedom;
