Is very concerned that in the past decade progress has only been achieved very slowly, that the wage differential between men and women has remained persistently high in recent years and that, despite the legally binding principle of equal pay for work of equal value, women’s hourly earnings in the EU27 were on average 17.5% less than men’s for the same work in 2009; notes that the flexicurity strategy is not of a nature to reduce existing disparities in employment protection and pay between women and men;
