Welcomes, therefore, the Commission's proposed new data protection regulation, and stresses the need to approve and implement a new regulation on the subject in a form that, while protecting privacy and safeguarding fundamental rights, guarantees legal certainty, allows sufficient flexibility to companies to enable them to develop their business without taking on huge costs, while also offering them simplification and reduction of administrative burdens;
