Stresses that the administrative costs within the EUnion in times of austerity need to reflect the reality that European citizens live under; approves, therefore, the suggestions of lowering the expenditure on payments for EU staff as proposed by the Councilshould be rationalized and thoroughly examined with a view of finding savings that would not hamper however effectiveness of the Union institutions in implementing tasks assigned to and expected from them.
