5. Calls on the Commission and the Member States to ensure an optimal use of the Structural Funds, such as the European Social Fund, for specific programmes that promote lifelong learning and aim at increasing the rate of male and female participation in the VET system; calls for the development of specific actions in the framework of the Pilot Project Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs in order to encourage entrepreneurship especially among women;
