Calls on the Commission to establish a special body to monitor Member States‘ performance in absorbing EU fundslaborate on a more efficient approach to monitoring the absorption of EU funds within an existing institutional framework, and also calls urgently for the collection of data, taking into consideration the data protection directives, on the effectiveness of EU funds, in order to develop evidence- based policies;
