Encourages the Commission to promotemake existing standards which help to further strengthen tourists’ rights andprotect tourists' rights in various circumstances clearer and more visible; calls on the Commission to further strengthen those rights where necessary and to encourage the competitiveness of the European tourism industry, and; reiterates in this context its call on the Commission to support the gradual harmonisation of the European accommodation classification system, in close cooperation with the authorities at various levels and the operators in the sector;
