Calls for the operational programmes to be closely geared to the corresponding priorities of the macro-regional strategies in order to ensure the best possible coordination of objectives and means; takes the view that exploiting the potential offered by the specific features of the regions will result in the structural funds being used much more efficiently and added value being created at regional level;
