Takes note of the establishment of the Structural Reform Support Programme (SRSP), and recognises its potential benefits for cohesion policy, among other areas; considers, however, that in case of a possible prolongation of the programme, resources should not be taken away from ESI Funds technical assistance; calls on the Commission, in cooperation with the Member States, to ensure maximum coordination between the actions financed by the SRSP and the technical assistance provided under the ESI Funds;

Is concerned that in certain Member States technical assistance does not reach the local and regional authorities in an effective way; highlights that it is crucial toeir need for suitable information campaigns and the establishment of sound communication channels between the different levels of governance in order to successfully implement the ESI Funds, but also to restore trust in the effective functioning of the EU and its policies in the eyes of the public and the competent authorities;
