Requests the Commission in line with Art. 30 of the Directive to monitor the independence of the competent regulatory authorities in the Member States; calls on the Commission to review the directive taking into account the changing media environment and the challenges the audiovisual media sector faces, including the attempts of government and business circles to exert influence on the media;

7a. Calls on the Commission to ask the Member States to implement the rules of accessibility, and follow the situation closely in order to provide an overview of measures taken by the Member States;
