Calls on the Member States to improve access to effective and independent justice and non-judicial mechanisms in relation to discrimination in the workplace and recalls that serious shortcomings were also reported by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights in this regard in its report on Access to justice in cases of discrimination in the EU;

Ha. whereas mediation can provide a cost-effective and quick extra-judicial resolution of disputes, where processes are tailored to the needs of the parties, the agreements reached are more likely to be kept voluntarily and to bring about amicable and sustainable relationships between the parties, and can contribute to resolving cases of discrimination;
