Calls on the EU and its Member States to lead the way among development actors and to recommit to the full implementation of the principles of effective development cooperation, namely country ownership of development priorities, focus on results, transparency, shared accountability and inclusiveness of all stakeholders; stresses the importance of reinforcing EU's efforts to make development cooperation as effective as possible, with a view to achieving the ambitious goals and targets set out in the 2030 Agenda and making the best use of public and private resources for development;
