RThis specific educational system enables pupils to study all subjects (particularly the sciences) in their mother tongue with qualified teachers, or as a SWALS with the necessary learning support and classes to maintain their mother tongue; regrets that the European Schools are often wrongly considered to be elitist schools, when their mission is to provide mother-tongue education for students whose parents may be required to change their place of work or return to their country of origin;
