Calls for specific measures to be taken to ensure that SMEs can fully enjoy the potential of broadband in the fields of e- commerce and e-procurement; calls on the Commission to support Member States initiatives to develop e-skills in SMEs and to stimulate innovative, internet-based business models through the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP) and its future successor, the Programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and SMEs (COSME).
