Notes with concern that trade deregulation and the EU's dismantling of the common organisation of the markets in essential products has boosted the agribusiness sector and done untold harm to small and medium-sized farmers both in Europe and developing countries; considers that the EU and the Latin American and Caribbean countries must come up with ambitious solutions to protect small and medium-sized farmers, whose methods are generally more environmentally friendly and more likely to ensure food security;
