Calls on the Commission to closely evaluate the implementation by Google of the binding commitments resulting from the agreement of February 2014; believesensure a level playing field in the digital single market and to combat abusivee of dominant positions created by the so-called ‘first mover’ advantages and network effects in the digital sector should be more closely monitoredby certain market participants, by launching criminal proceedings where necessary, rather than merely carrying out one investigation after another;

3a. Considers that Union competition policy should not be detrimental to industrial policy; calls on the Union to promote the development of European industrial champions in growth- generating areas such as the digital sector and, to that end, to rethink the rules on state aid;

Calls on Member States to implement the new EU public procurement rules in a timely manner in order to boost fair competition and ensure best value for money for public authorities; urges the Commission to ensure their application to the fullest possible extent in order to tackle distortions of competition caused by bid- rigging, abuses of dominant positions and discrimination in the public procurement sector; calls on the Commission and the Member States to frame their action within a global framework by linking the Union’s competition policy within Europe with the defence of a level playing field for European companies in third countries; stresses, in this respect, the need to improve the openness of third countries’ public procurement procedures in accordance with the principle of reciprocity
