Calls on the Commission to take an active part in efforts to achieve the objective of framing and adopting a set of rules agreed by the social partners at EU level aimed at upholding fundamental rights as regards equal opportunities and extending gender-related legal guarantees to cover access, pay and working conditions, life-work balancing measures, training, career development and safety;

Calls on the Member States to encourage, including by means of tax incentives and specific financial aid, forms of home help and support for elderly and vulnerable persons – especially women – and to reduce the negative impact on the employment of relatives, in particular women, who take care of dependent family members.
