Believes that the ongoing review of EU election law should include a rule that persons forporate a chapter devoted to establishing a code of conduct for parties and election coalitions standing in European elections that wounld guiltyinclude the crimes of corruption against the EU’s financial interests or within Member States may not run for office in the next two terms of the European Parliamentas grounds for ineligibility in at least the two terms following conviction; believes that it should also lay down measures to suspend elected representatives against whom legal proceedings are opened for corruption until the proceedings have been completed;
