Welcomes the role played by the EU in the Paris/COP 21 agreement and its role as world leader in the fight against climate change; points out that Europe has the most ambitious climate change goals in the world; Urges that climate change mitigation be considered an urgent priority in EU cohesion policies, in order to meet and indeed exceed the Paris Agreement/COP21 commitments by promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency, without prejudice to the necessary adaptation measures;
