Deplores the fact that people’s patterns of employment are becoming increasingly uneven and insecure as a result of temporary work, the growth of short-term contracts, marginal employment and unemployment; notes that this increase in precarious employment also has an impact on the financial security of the current generation and will thus impose a greater burden on succeeding generations;

Takes the view that the provision of care requires a high level of qualification and an exceptional degree of responsibility on the part of the carer, which must be duly recognised in social and financial terms; and that this is the only way of ensuring that quality standards can be maintained in the long term and sufficient numbers of well trained and motivated carers can be recruited;
