Calls on the EIB to undertake not to fund certain types of project and to draw up lists of ‘banned areas’ and ‘banned technologies’ covering, for example, projects that result in significant changes to important natural habitats or in the production of banned substances, large dam projects that fail to comply with the recommendations of the World Commission on Dams, and extraction projects (oil, gas and minerals) which have a devastating environmental and social impact and do not comply with the World Bank Extractive Industries Review recommendations;

6. Calls for the EIB to continue to apply stringent conditions to coal- and lignite- based energy production projects which remain eligible for EIB support in line with EU security-of-supply policy objectives, and stresses how important it is to apply those conditions with a view to phasing out EIB support for high-carbon energy production at the earliest opportunitywhen it is appropriate to do so.
