Notes that the US was the largest market for EU exports and the second- largest source of EU imports in 2017; notes that there are differences in the trade deficits and surpluses between the EU and the US for trade in goods, trade in services, digital trade and foreign direct investment; notes further that the EU has a US dollar 147 billion surplus in goods with the US;
