5a. Takes the view that there will only be fair competition in the single market if there is improved comparability between the Member States in competition-related areas; therefore encourages the establishment of minimum common standards in, among others, the areas of company taxation, safety and health at the workplace, wage assessment and the fight against wage dumping and social dumping;
